Many people are unsure whether hiring a lawyer is within reach or whether their injuries are serious enough to pursue a claim. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DK Law founder Daniel Kim recently sat down with <a href=\"https:\/\/fox40.com\/studio-40\/dk-law\/\">Fox40 KTXL in Sacramento<\/a> to cut through the confusion \u2013 and what he shared might surprise you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-outline is-style-outline--1\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-primary-black-background-color has-background wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/1194101367\/1a97bde4b3?share=copy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Click Here to Watch the Video<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"dklaw-toc__block align wp-block-dklaw-toc-block\"><div class=\"acf-innerblocks-container\">\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Biggest Misconceptions Holding Accident Victims Back<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dklaw.com\/insights\/pi-attorneys-vs-insurers\/\">DK Law conducted a nationwide survey<\/a> of accident victims to find out what they actually think about personal injury law, what made them hesitate to hire an attorney, and how they felt once they did. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What we found was eye-opening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nearly 28% of respondents said they did not hire an attorney simply because they did not know it was an option. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Another 23% assumed they could not afford one.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Daniel Kim addressed the affordability concern head-on. &#8220;Personal injury attorneys, we work off of a contingency fee basis. What that essentially means is that we don&#8217;t get paid unless we win the case on your behalf.&#8221; Daniel summed it up in one line: \u201cThe cost itself should not be a barrier for you to retain counsel\u201d. Cost shouldn\u2019t be the reason someone walks away from the compensation they deserve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When prompted why they didn&#8217;t hire an attorney, 33% of those surveyed felt their injuries were \u2018not serious enough\u2019<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s a statistic that resonates with Daniel. He emphasized, &#8220;Please do not self-diagnose your injuries or the value of your case.&#8221; Even injuries commonly dismissed as minor, like whiplash, can lead to chronic pain and ongoing treatment needs that victims may fail to account for when deciding whether to file a claim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our survey also revealed a striking gap in trust between insurance companies and personal injury attorneys. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Only 11% of respondents believe insurance companies act in their best interest, while 48% trust their personal injury attorney.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yet, many still hesitate to make that call.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Daniel Kim&#8217;s guidance for anyone unsure whether they have a case: &#8220;If you were hurt because of the negligence of another person, whether it was a car accident, a slip and fall, or a dog bite, you should seek at least a free consultation with an attorney so that they can give you proper guidance.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"dklaw-toc__block align wp-block-dklaw-toc-block\"><div class=\"acf-innerblocks-container\">\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Built on Service: From the JAG Corps to the Courtroom<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When asked about DK Law&#8217;s deep involvement in the community, <a href=\"https:\/\/dklaw.com\/attorneys\/daniel-kim\/\">Daniel Kim traced it back to his time in the military<\/a>. &#8220;My mindset of serving started when I was in the United States military in the Judge Advocate General&#8217;s Court, the JAG Corps\u2026that transferred from military service into the private sector as I became a personal injury attorney.
